About museum preserve

The Museum is located in one of the oldest streets of the city, the former Panskaya street, in two memorial buildings of the mid-nineteenth century. One of them is the documentary exhibition devoted to the establishment and development of public education in Simbirsk province in 1860-1880's. Another is a memorial exposition "the First female parochial schools", one of the first elementary schools in the city. Earlier in this building there were the apartments of a teacher, an inspector and a guard. The schoolyard has a gymnastics complex. Today it is the only Museum in the country, telling the story of the development of mass and of different classes school of the second half of the nineteenth century.
