About museum preserve

The Museum is housed in an old mansion, which was part of the manor complex and was typical of the architecture of Simbirsk of the mid-nineteenth century, the exposition of the museum consists of seven rooms. The urban development plans, drawings, photographs and drawings of preserved and long-lost buildings tell about the history of the development and appearance of Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk since its inception in 1648 until the 1970s, tell. Visitors always pay attention to rare and authentic exhibits. These are the layouts of Simbirsk Kremlin of XVII century, the first regular city plan, in 1780 approved by Catherine II (the original of it is kept in the Historical Museum of St. Petersburg), an engraving by Makhaev with views of Simbirsk and stove tiles, which were produced in the cells of the Spassky convent.
