In the basement of the former house of nobles Yazykovy is a Museum of Archaeology of Simbirsk province. The Museum displays the ancient history of our region since the introduction on the territory of the first man before the time of its entering the territory of the Moscow state and the Foundation of Simbirsk (from the middle Paleolithic to the late middle Ages). Documentary exhibition covers the period from 1718 to 2000-ies. The main part of the exposition of the Museum tells about the first inhabitants of our region, their occupation and lifestyle, acquaints visitors with the Mesolithic mid-stone age, fishing-hunting settlement of the early bronze age, Neolithic and Neolithic settlements.

An important section of the Museum is devoted to the period of the middle and second half of the first thousand years of our era. This time large migrations marked the beginning of a new period of ethnic history of the region. Traces of Finno-Ugric, Abashevsky, Srybny, Imen tribes, the history of the settlement of nomadic Turkic Ranneberger tribes on the territory of the Ulyanovsk Volga region, as well as the history and existence of Bulgaria - the first state on the territory of the Volga region will be presented to the audience in a unique exhibits, layouts, multimedia programs.
