About museum preserve

In the Museum-reserve "the birthplace of V.I. Lenin" there are carried out the necessary works for the study, conservation, repair and restoration of objects of history and culture.

A newfound remarkable architectural monument of Russian modernism of the early twentieth century “Manor of the architect F.O. Livchak. House-Atelier" in the street of Architect Livchak, 4 required significant repairs and replacement of all engineering systems (heating, ventilation, hot and cold water, electricity) in accordance with the new requirements to the content of museums and their safety.

Project documentation was developed in two stages: in 2009-2010, the Middle Volga branch of the Institute "specprojectrestoration" has done preliminary work, engineering and technical inspection and project on strengthening of foundations, in 2011 there was developed a working draft of capital repairs of the building.

After the necessary approvals and getting of sponsorship in 2012-2013 the work continued. Amplification was carried out of the building foundation. Overhaul has touched all the facilities and engineering systems of the building - the roof was replaced, partially replaced and insulated was an attic floor, there were replaced rotten windows and wooden floors, there were restored the lost stucco elements of interiors and facade, operated roof terraces were restored. Experienced craftsmen recreated swans, fish pots on the facades and sections of floral ceiling ornaments; with ceramic tiles, made at historical technology, there were recreated the areas of tiled floors, according to the old samples there were casted concrete sills, bottom of walls in the Studio of architect F.O.Livchak were covered with lincrusta. After the repair of windows and doors in the future of the museum halls there were equipped brass handles and latches, made according to old models in Moscow shops.

The facades of the building are already pleasing to passing citizens. Fabulous characters look from mosaics and stucco paintings- the Swan Princess, the goldfish, the Firebird.

Currently in the restored interior there is a large-scale preparation for the creation of the Museum House-Atelier of architect F.O. Livchak. The Grand opening is scheduled for December 2014
