About museum preserve

The Museum building is recreated on the place of a trading stall that was a part of a large estate of Simbirsk 2nd Guild of merchants, known Simbirsk patrons - Kuzma Yakovlevich and Lubov Grigorievna Garkovy.

On the ground floor there is almost the best in the city exhibition hall. The Museum exposition tells about the origin, formation and development of the merchant class in Russia and Simbirsk, about its role in the socio-economic and cultural development of the city and the whole country, and the life of the merchants, about the traditions and customs.
